Coconut Oil Lavender Bath Bombs

Lavender Bath Bombs

These little bath bombs are amazing.  After a long day at work or playing in the garden these little pillows of heaven are just what the doctor ordered.  These are one of my all time favorite bath time stress relievers.  Warm water, a good book and the soothing lavender aroma are all I need after a long stressful day.  I was in the mall the other day and saw a Lush store for the first time.  WOW.  That is a lot of bath bombs.  I wanted to try one of each flavor but sadly I have not won the Lottery yet so I had to cut my list down a bit.  If you want to try making some yourself these go together easily.  Once you make these you will never buy them again.  They make cute gifts and you skin feels amazing after soaking in the tub with one of these.

Coconut Oil Bath Bombs

Ingredients:
1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup epson salt
1/2 cup corn starch
1/4 cup citric acid
3 Tablespoons Coconut oil
2 Tablespoons water
3-4 drops of Lavender oil (Balance is another great oil for these)
Mix the baking soda, epson salt, corn starch, citric acid together then with your hands work in the coconut oil.  It will take a little effort to get the coconut oil worked in.  I pinch the clumps with my finger until the mixture looks like this.

Once coconut oil is worked in add the essential oil, then the water a little at a time.  If you add it all at once you will cause the citric acid to react.  Once you have everything worked in it holds its shape when you squeeze it. You are ready to put into molds.  I use a small silicone muffin pan.
