Crockpot Applesauce

Picture

It is that time of year again. Dave and I have been having a lot of fun picking apples all over the valley.  We love all things apple;  Apple Pie, Apple Cider and Applesauce. There is nothing that reminds me of fall more than the smell of Applesauce cooking in the crockpot. This is a very simple recipe inspired by the local farmers market.

8-10 Apples- cored and sliced
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
1 Cinnamon Stick
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar

Place all ingredients in crockpot. Allow to cook for 6 hours on low, stirring occasionally. When apples are done remove Cinnamon Stick and mash with Potato Masher or Immersion Blender.

Pour Applesauce into clean pint jars. Cold pack for 20 min.  If you don’t know how to cold pack check out this article.
