Fork Hook Rack

Upcycling is one of my passions and when I saw this it a magazine clipping at a friends house I had to make one for my kitchen.  This was a really fun project and it looks so cute in my Kitchen.

Supplies needed:
1″ x 4″ X 24″ pine board
4 forks (got at thrift store for .10 each)
black paint
4 upholstery tacks
super glue

Tools needed:
heat gun
heavy gloves or hot pads
hammer
drill with 1/4″ bit

Paint board and sand edges for a rustic look.

Flatten Forks-  This is a little more fun than it should be.  A fun way to take out your stress.  Just hammer until flat.

Drill a hole in the center of the fork with the 1/4″ drill bit.

Take the heat gun and heat up the part of the fork you want to bend.  It does not take too long but the metal will be really hot so make sure you protect your hands with heavy gloves or potholders.

After the forks are bent how you want them.  Figure out where you want them on your board.  Then put a little supper glue on the back of the fork and push the upholstery tack through the hole in the fork.  you may need to hammer the tack in.  once the glue dries it will be pretty sturdy.  Be careful no one wants their fingers glued together. I suggest using rubber gloves.
