I don’t always have time to whip up a cake from scratch. I still want the cake to be amazing and for everyone to ask for seconds.. This is one way to make that blah box cake awesome.
This method is simple. Substitute Coffee (cooled to room temp) for the water called for on the back of the box. Use softened butter instead of oil and make sure the eggs are room temp.
This method seems to work best for chocolate cake mixes. The coffee brings out the chocolate flavor for a richer taste. The butter keeps the cake super moist.
Mix as directed on back of box, bake, frost and enjoy.
