Pizza Oven Bliss | Our Life Inspired

Memorial Weekend not only included a chance to get together with Family and Friends, it was also one of Dave’s Famous Pizza nights. We all look forward to Dave firing up the oven and making the dough. We pile all kinds of toppings on and wait patiently (not really) for the bubbly goodness to come out of the oven. Luckily it only takes a few minutes for the pizzas to cook. The first bite is pure heaven. Check out the yummy pizza combinations.

The one thing to remember, these pizzas are not your typical Pizza Hut or Domino’s Pizza. When building a pizza, less is more. Do not try to put every topping at your disposal on top of your pizza.

Pepperoni Pizza

Precook your pepperoni to keep your pizza from turning into an oily mess.

Arugula, cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and fresh egg.

If you use the egg, Let the pizza cook a little longer and lift the pizza up into the top of the oven to just cook the top of the pizza, specifically the egg. You want the egg yolk to stay runny, but the whites to firm up. You can make this in your home oven, use the broiler at the end to firm up the egg, just take care not to crisp the arugula.

Make homemade mozzarella. It is easier than you think and you will never get fresher cheese.

Dessert Pizza

This is a great way to use up an over-ripe banana. If you want to add pecans or some other nut, add it after the pizza is cooked and put the pizza back in the oven for 30 seconds or less. If you put them on at the beginning, they will burn because of their higher oil content.

Dust a little powdered sugar over the pizza after it is cooked. It looks pretty and brightens the flavors.

Chicken & Jalapeno with Roasted Garlic sauce

We tried a little twist on this, in addition to the white sauce we included little dollops of very soft goat cheese. If you have not tried goat cheese before, go for it. It is very similar to cream cheese, but has a tangy bite to it.
